via Ubuntu - United States
Just created a website today that I will be using to consolidate information I find from other sites, Facebook groups, Circles, emails, etc. It is extremely new so I have not started promoting it but in the meantime, here is a link. I am looking to start adding content shortly. http://ubuntumovementnews.com/…

There is also a Facebook group to go along with it at the following address:

Have you cleared this with any of the organizers?

I have not. This was being done as a personal initiative, not directly affiliated.

I did however send Allison an email a few minute ago with the link as a heads up so will see if she says anything.

I, too, have a website for Ubuntu but they are asking folks to register their efforts in order to keep the message consistent. You might want to just check in with them and let them know what you are doing and see if they have any guidelines set up yet for projects like yours.

Thank you for the heads up sister. I added a disclaimer for the time being until Allison responds. What is the link to the site you are promoting?

Good point. Please make sure everything you do for Ubuntu is cleared by the organizers. I check with Starr always and/or the organizers.

Oz, have you read the Ubuntu book? if you need the Ebook, I can email to you. We assume everyone that is involved has at least read the book because it's all in there:-)

I have built it mostly for local folks (Crestone CO) but have had to take care some other projects for the past couple of weeks and am just getting back to it. Not much promotion yet. I also have a blog but it, too, has been somewhat neglected as of late. Website: www.ubuntucolorado.org. Blog: http://ubuntucolorado.wix.com/…. I had contacted the previous Ubuntu USA Director and he had given me the OK to proceed with my project with the understanding that all my content would be directed largely back to the Ubuntu Planet website as well as any links to donations, events, etc. I don't know if anything beyond that has been put in place yet. They seem overwhelmed and extremely busy trying to get everything coordinated. I only ask about your project as they really want everyone on the same page and getting guidelines before you put a lot of work into it makes good sense. It is one of the reasons I haven't done much with it yet. I am a Colorado Director pending their approval so maybe I'll have a chance to find out more soon.

I was just in Boulder. Wish I could have stayed longer. Loved Pearl Street. sigh.
