For those who are more familiar with the Ubuntu concept than I am, can you help please? I have many people I talk with say....'well, what about my mortgage on my house'.....who's going to pay that to the bank?' While society's in transition......what happens? help!
Cleo
maybe he could use a promisery note to pay the mortgage,
like Michael Tellinger talks about you can look it up on a talk he does on youtube & find out how it works with Aussie banks..

While we are in transition either your whole debt (mortgage) is erased either we have a new bank lend money with no interest Then depends if you are in one of the villages Michael runs you will only have to donate 3 hours of your time once a week. I believe that's the final goal for our society but before that happens only a few communities will live in that way during the transitional phase. The group's money problems will be solved by a group of elders that will be chosen by the people. You just have to go to them and tell them your problem they'll sort it out because they will have access to some funds In the case of South Africa and the communities Ubuntu will run there the money will come from the government

A people's bank will introduce interest free loans & the cancelling of loans that would have paid off the capital.. in the transition.. beyond that the very concept of land ownership will be called into question.. as a matter of fact it was originally stolen anyway..

Thanks everyone....I like the idea of the promisory note and understand there has to be a period of transition. The degree of fear people express has really been brought to my attention.
