A very special camp and social event with the Wampanoag elder, teacher, author and community-builder Manitonquat (Medicine Story), along with his wife and partner Ellika.
Manitonquat has more than 40 years experience as a community-builder and is author of many books. http://www.circleway.org/about.html
This gathering and camp will be a unique opportunity for anyone interested in :
● Creation of a resilient, joyful, supportive and loving community
● Indigenous knowledge and wisdom
● The human side of Permaculture and Ecovillages
The Circle Way is about connection. It is about relationship - to ourselves, to our families, to our work, our goals and dreams, to the Earth and all life, and to the cosmic drama of which we are all a part…. adapting the ancient ways of the circle to create a culture that lives lightly upon the Earth following the needs of human beings for connection and closeness, for meaning, fun and creativity.
At the gathering, we will all meet together in a big circle to learn about each other and about the Circle Way and we will divide into smaller groups ('clans') to strengthen friendships, be creative and to share our thoughts and issues in a closer way. We will also divide into small groups for 'supportive listening' or 'co-counselling' - trust is essential and what is said in the circle stays in the circle - also, by putting our issues / problems into words for others to understand, we help ourselves to understand them better and find ways to deal with them. In between the various circle group meetings, we will have time for fun and games, connecting with nature, making music, singing and dancing - everyone welcome to join in to the best of their ability !
We will eat together so everyone is invited to bring food to share.
We will be camping in a beautiful valley nestle in the South Downs. More details to follow.
